Parenting fail. And then a win!

Jon and I had one of those low points in parenting this morning.

While David and I were talking this about what we'd grow in our garden someday, David interrupted the dreams I was voicing of fresh peas, cucumbers, and squash, as he said,

"And chicken! I'll grow chicken. And French fries and ketchup. And cream! AND pancakes and syrup!"

:(

BUT, I want you all to know that redemption came. When I asked him what he wanted for dinner this evening, do you know what he said? "I just want carrots. And cucumbers and tomatoes."

You better believe I delivered.

And for the record, he doesn't even like cream. I think he was just picking the least healthy things he could think of.

In other news, Sebastian is crawling! He took those first crawls forward at just shy of 7 months! David didn't crawl til 10 months or something. They say that using a carrier stimulates the legs and that those who are carried a lot crawl sooner. Well, much to my chagrin, Bastian is proving that to be true and is now crawling just in time to help his big brother make chaos of my efforts to pack our lives into five suit cases.

Well wishes appreciated!

And just for fun, here's a picture from our last hoopla in Europe. And maybe our last hoopla ever. Jon tells me that lawyers don't get vacation. David says, "So long, Prague!"

  2. Tell him Papa Joe is growing french fries in our Fairview garden and we'll dig some baby ones up when he comes.
