I'm up. And Francis wouldn't approve.

I think I'll start to write again. For my own sanity.

It seems a little rude to write things publicly, when they are mostly just for myself. Forgive me for it and feel free to stop reading.

To tell you the truth, I don't really follow blogs, so it's pretty audacious of me to try to keep one in the first place.

I'm rambling. It's because it's after 1:00 AM and I should be in bed, but the house is so quiet. Which is sometimes pleasant to a parent of tiny folk. And I have a habit, that I wish I didn't, of sometimes not doing good things for myself, when I REALLY truly should. It's a lousy form of rebellion.

I'm working on it. Or at least, I'm planning to work on it. :)

In Francis Bacon's Essays, you can read, "A man's nature runs either to herbs or weeds; therefore let him seasonably water the one, and destroy the other."

And also the reminder, "...since custom [ie. habit] is the principle magistrate of man's life, let men by all means endeavour to obtain good customs."

Today I watered both herbs and weeds in my nature. Tomorrow, I plan to water the herbs a little more heavily and uproot a few weeds by choosing to follow new, and better, habits.

Now that my plan for tomorrow is put down immortally on the internet, I'll be obliged to follow through. Thanks.
